Few writers write with such clarity and thoroughness as Jonathan Edwards. In this two-hundred page compilation, ten of Edward's most impactful and well-known works are set forth in part to give the reader a taste of his biblical depth and high view of God.

Any careful reader notices distinct writing styles used by Edwards. In his sermons, the American Puritan holds his biblical text, while ever so carefully turning it and describing every intricate detail that can be fathomed. In his philosophical treaties, he plumbs the depths of biblical ideas as few men are able. In his theological monograms, Edwards appears to describe a Christ as if He were seemingly present in his own study room.

Though Jonathan Edwards is regarded by many as one of Christianity's most able thinkers, his deep pastoral concern for his flock clearly evidences itself in many ways. His chief desire for his congregation was that they have a profoundly thorough knowledge of Scripture and that they live in light of the truth given to them. His theology was not theoretical, merely to combat the Arminianism of the day, but practical, to exhort his listeners to live in light of true grace.

It is difficult to leave a writing of Edwards without a deep affect on the mind and soul. One is pressed both in thought and in character to live to the standards set forth by this spiritual giant.
